About the Festival
The Institute for the Study of the Environment, Sustainability, and Energy (ESE Institute) and the Division of Outreach, Engagement, and Information Technologies at Northern Illinois University is planning the third annual Green Lens Environmental Film Festival for April 20-25, 2013.
The theme of this year’s film festival is The Planet in Focus. The event will again be hosted at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb and will feature films submitted by students and local talent from around northern Illinois, informational displays from sponsors and local organizations, a panel discussion of local environmental experts, and so much more!
The mission of the Green Lens Environmental Film Festival is to provide Northern Illinois with an opportunity to experience films with environmental themes that are relevant to both the local and global communities. The GLEFF provides a venue for filmmakers to screen their films and receive recognition for significant contributions. The festival seeks to explore topics related to the environment, sustainability, and energy while encouraging community involvement. Through its association with Northern Illinois University, the GLEFF shares the mission of creating a community of diverse people, ideas, services, and scholarly endeavors in a climate of respect for the intrinsic dignity of each individual.
